Privacy Policy

TUFFC is built to help anglers make better fishing decisions. This policy explains what information TUFFC collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

Information we collect

If you create an account, TUFFC processes your email address, account identifier, and optional display name. Apple, Google, and RevenueCat process purchase and subscription information associated with your account to provide and restore paid access and to understand subscription use through analytics. TUFFC does not receive your payment-card details from store purchases.

If you send feedback or report a data issue, TUFFC processes the message, your account email, app version, submission time, and any water or evidence context you choose to attach. TUFFC does not upload photos selected for the current on-device photo tools.

With your permission, TUFFC may use precise foreground location to sort nearby waters and request location-relevant weather or condition data. Location access is optional and can be changed in device settings. TUFFC does not use background location. When you choose to save a location with an applicable Logbook record, precise coordinates may be stored with that record and your account.

On Android, Google Maps may process technical information needed to provide the map, including device and request metadata, a Maps SDK-specific identifier, map interactions, and crash or diagnostic information. Google describes this processing in its Maps SDK documentation.

Account continuity features store applicable saved waters, preferences, tackle, Logbook entries, saved-trip information and notes, and submitted field observations with your TUFFC account so those records can be synchronized across signed-in devices. Existing local records are not automatically moved to an account merely by signing in; use the applicable in-app account or synchronization controls. Some information remains local, including local-only records, caches and derived personalization summaries. Logbook photos remain on the device and are not uploaded or included in cloud synchronization by the current photo tools.

Push notifications and widgets use account-linked installation or device identifiers, delivery tokens, platform and app-version information. TUFFC also processes delivery and acknowledgement state, refresh or freshness information, and technical error or diagnostic state to operate these features and troubleshoot failures. These identifiers are used for app functionality, not advertising tracking.

How information is used

TUFFC uses information to authenticate accounts, provide and restore subscription access, operate water, weather, map, and support features, respond to requests, and maintain service reliability. Applicable account-backed records and preferences also help personalize TUFFC recommendations and experiences. Derived personalization summaries are processed locally; this does not mean every record remains only on the device. Subscription and map-service analytics are used to operate and understand those services.

Service providers

TUFFC relies on service providers including Supabase for account services and applicable cloud-backed records, Expo, Apple and Google/Firebase for push and widget delivery, RevenueCat and the Apple App Store or Google Play for subscriptions, Open-Meteo and authoritative water-data providers for conditions, Google Maps for Android maps, and Netlify and Resend for website and support delivery. These providers process information under their own privacy terms and only as needed to provide their services.

TUFFC does not sell personal information, run advertising profiles, or use personal information for cross-app tracking or targeted advertising.

Retention and deletion

You can manage applicable records through their in-app controls and delete your TUFFC account from My TUFFC in the app or request help through the support page. Account deletion removes the TUFFC account and associated account-backed records; signing out alone is not account deletion. It does not necessarily remove separate local-only records or local photos from your device. Support information may be retained to resolve requests and meet legal or security needs. Deleting a TUFFC account does not cancel an Apple or Google subscription; manage subscriptions in the applicable store. Purchase, billing, fraud-prevention, and security records may be retained when legally or operationally required. Local device data can be removed by deleting the app or clearing its data.

Security and contact

TUFFC uses encrypted network connections and reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information processed. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Contact TUFFC Support with privacy questions, access requests, or deletion requests.
